The pilot shouldn't have been landing so short. How's the project coming Tom?

I agree Pete, this student pilot should have known better at this point in his training, he was very short and the aircraft appeared to be losing lift rapidly - too high. The SUV driver is not without fault. The idiots who ok'd and built this road in that location, well . . . . Glad there were no serious injuries.
Pete, I have my Skylite's plans-built gear made and ready to replace the heavy gear and 6" wheels put on by a PO. I ordered a pair of 5" Azusalite wheels for it, along with Lamb tires and tubes. Guess I'll see if these wheels are sufficient. They are Zytel nylon and weigh 1 pound each, with sealed bearings. Trying hard to trim the weight off the Skylite. Unfortunately, its getting too cold to work in an unheated hanger, but every now and then we get a little warmer day.
How are your wings coming?
Tom

Tom, The prototype Skylite Flew off pavement with Zytel Azusalite wheels for 3 years......When I built my own strip out in the country, I switched to the Azusa Aluminum wheels from Great Plains. Same ones as used on the Sonerais. I ran the Skylite for 3 years without brakes as well.....Ed
